Apart from providing a luxurious private dining service mentioned previously, we set our eyes on a much more noble cause - to make every meal zero waste.

Each year, a staggering 2.5 billion tons of food are wasted globally. If we could salvage even 10-20% of this, our world would become significantly more sustainable. This challenge has become our driving force.

With that in mind, here at NORO, we are committed to making every dish zero or close to minimal waste - utilizing every last bit of food scraps.

All of our generated revenue will be directed into charitable and research purposes. We aim to help provide more research opportunities for students and youth scientists.ts.

Alongside NORO’s private dining reservations, there will be weekly informative posts of ways one can use up food scraps which surprisingly are full of awesomeness.

MEET NORO’S HEAD CHEF AND FOUNDER - NGUYEN HAI PHONG

Phong’s culinary journey spans years of home cooking, experience in an artisanal bakery, and collaborations with head chefs for special events in professional settings. This hands-on experience is complemented by his scientific background, which includes publishing research papers, working as an intern research assistant at various institutions, and achieving Finalist status in the International Research Olympiad.


For Phong, cooking is more than just a craft—it's an intricate dance between art and science. This perspective informs his approach to gastronomy, allowing him to push boundaries and explore innovative culinary techniques.

THE SOUS CHEF - VU MINH NHAT

Nhat's expertise spans across Chemistry, Physics, and the innovative realm of Roblox science

Chef Nhat loves to cook at home for his family and himself. His creations at home are somewhat interesting as they are a testament to his creativity.. As a young science enthusiast in Vietnam, Nhat has identified a significant gap in legitimate research opportunities for high school students and is determined to address this issue

His cooking style reflects a blend of scientific precision and artistic expression, showcasing how his multifaceted interests complement each other.

RESEARCHER + CHEF - KHUC DANG DUY ANH

Chef Duy Anh brings a unique blend of culinary passion and scientific acumen to the kitchen. His impressive academic background is marked by numerous accolades, including awards from prestigious scientific competitions and a coveted internship as a research assistant at renowned universities.

This scientific rigor translates seamlessly into Duy Anh's approach to cooking. He applies the same methodical, analytical mindset to his culinary creations that he does to his scientific research, resulting in dishes that are not only delicious but also innovative and precisely executed.

PASTRY CHEF - NGUYEN TUAN THANH

Thanh is a culinary artisan with a profound passion for pastry and baking. His extensive experience spans a wide array of baked goods, from intricate French pastries to hearty artisanal breads. Thanh's expertise in the pastry kitchen is evident in his masterful baked creation.

Thanh's culinary interests extend beyond the realm of baking into advanced cooking techniques that demand a high level of expertise. He has developed a particular fascination with dry-aging, a complex process that enhances the flavor and texture of meats. This interest showcases Thanh's commitment to exploring the science behind cooking and his willingness to invest time and resources into mastering challenging culinary methods.

OUR STORY

It began with a simple mutual love for food and science. Whether it was a class project or a lab session, we all shared with one another our passion.

Years later, as we approached our senior year of high school, we decided to elevate our home cooking to new heights. Reuniting around the same flame that first brought us together, it felt as though no time had passed.

This endeavor showcases our current prowess in culinary arts. Drawing from our diverse backgrounds—including professional kitchen experience and advanced scientific knowledge—we aim to infuse the world of cuisine with fresh, innovative ideas.
